      Ubuntu Linux 9.10 - quad core 2.4GHZ 16Gigs Ram

I'm consistently getting slow insert performance when using the stomp protocol with python and php clients. Averaging 220-260 inserts per second vs 10K+ inserts per second using java+jms on the same queue.

I have tried durable false queues and setting persist = false on my stomp messages but still no performance increase.

      My hornetq-configuration.xml file:

My PHP stomp test script using the PECL Stomp Extension (same results were found using the python stomp client as well)

      My hornetq-jms.xml file:

ping time from client to hornetq server on local gigabit network: 64 bytes from icmp_seq=1 ttl=63 time=0.206 ms

Hornet Server Hardware: Quad core 2.4GHZ 16 GIGS of ram
PHP Stomp Client Hardware: Quad core 2.4GHZ 4 GIGS of ram

The same queue when using the JMS version in Java gets over 10,000 inserts per second.

Expected result would be slower performance than JMS but not 10,000 vs 250 per second.

        Gliffy Diagrams
