      WebSphere Portal v6.1.0.2 on WebSphere v7.0.0.5 with Seam 2.2.1-SNAPSHOT (2009-08-26)

      Description

      (I'm not sure if this is a portlet bridge bug or a seam bug and/or a JBoss Portal bug)
      We receive a NPE in all seam request with the portlet bridge on the statement
      return ( (HttpServletRequest) request).getRequestURL().toString();
      in
      org.jboss.seam.navigation.Pages

      This is consistent with the specs that say that a call to getRequestUrl() must return null..
      The detail are in the forum thread
      So is the processing taking the wrong path and should not execute the Pages.getRequestUrl() in teh first place?
      Should the method in seam test if getRequestUrl() return null and so return null also?
      Are people using the bridge with JBoss Portal also go through this method and do not receive null on the call to getRequestUrl()? if so, this is a bug in JBoss portal that should return null to conform to the specs
